An overview of sources of bias and uncertainty in fisheries surveys

Sources of error in fisheries surveys are identified and gaps in the literature are addressed using data from groundfish surveys carried out around Ireland. Much of this work is driven by the requirement for precision estimates under the EU Data Collection Regulations 1637/2001 and 1581/2004.
