This study estimated the strength of trophic interactions among functional groups of fish species on the northewest Atlantic coastal shelf. Multispecies biomass-dynamics models were fit to time series of catch and abundance data. The fitted models provide strong support for trophic interactions among the functional groups. The sustainable yield of each functional group depends on the harvest levels of interacting groups
