The identification of stock structure is a keystone of knowledge for fisheries research. Climate change has the potential to threaten marine and freshwater ecosystems all over the world, changing regional climate conditions. It is highly probable that water temperature will increase by 1 to 3*C in only 5-10 years. The gradual increases in water temperature may affect in different way, to different fish species producing alteration in life-history traits, altering demographic structure, migration patterns, such can have direct consequences on the genetic stock structure.
