The analysis of dynamics of mesoscale vortexes occurring in the Scotia Sea due to specific features of bottom relief and hydrodynamic instability of currents was carried out on the basis of ocean surface level measurements (Project AVISO, 2012, Chelton et al., 2012) as well as on the basis of trajectories of drifting buoys (Global Drifter Program, NOAA, 2012) over the period of 1992-2012
