Theme Section: Advancing dynamic modelling of marine populations and ecosystems
journal contribution
posted on 2022-02-28, 19:07 authored by WGIPEMTheme Section, published in Marine Ecology Progress Series volume 680, organised by the ICES Working Group on Integrative, Physical-biological and Ecosystem Modelling (WGIPEM). Highlights state-of-the-art, process-based models and how they are being applied to address a broad range of marine research and management topics. Contributions cover a variety of themes including population- to ecosystem-level responses to different individual or interacting pressures, improved depictions of the trophodynamic structure and function of ecosystems, uncertainty quantification and skill evaluation of complex models, as well as ecosystem monitoring and management strategy evaluation. Together, these studies demonstrate the management potential of dynamic marine ecosystem models.
