ICES has reviewed the format of advice for ple.27.7d, ple.27.7e, and ple.27.420 stocks in relation to providing consistency of approach. ICES advises that from 2023 the headline advice for the three stocks will be stock-based advice. This implies that the advice for the ple.27.420 stock will include catches of the stock that are taken in Division 7.d. Additionally, changes to the catch scenario tables of the three stocks will be made to clarify the amount of plaice in Division 7.d that originates from the North Sea and western English Channel respectively.

As ICES provides stock-based advice in the headline advice, details of the implied area-based projected catches will be given in the catch scenarios sections.
