The  EC  Communication  titled  “Consultation  on  Fishing  Opportunities  for  2011”  [COM  (2010)  241,  Annex  4]  asks ICES  to  evaluate  rules  for  setting  TACs  with  respect  to  the  precautionary  approach  and  compatibility  with  maximum sustainable yield (MSY).
