Eye-maggot (Lernaeenicus sprattae) and body-maggot (L. encrasicoli) of the sprat

Sprat (Sprattus sprattus (L.)) is the principal host of eye- maggot (Lernaeenicus sprattae) in northern  European wa- ters, and pilchard (Sardina pilchardus (Walbaum)), is an additional host farther south.
