ICES advises that when the MSY approach is applied, catches in 2024 should be no more than 41 286 tonnes.

Management of Sebastes mentella and S. norvegicus catches in east Greenland under a combined species TAC prevents effective control of the single-species exploitation rates, and is causing overexploitation of S. mentella for which there is zero catch advice. ICES advises that management should be implemented at the species level.
