Haddock in Division 6a (West of Scotland)
Based on the most recent estimates of SSB (in 2009), ICES classifies the stock as having reduced reproductive capacity. Based on the most recent estimate of fishing mortality (in 2008), ICES classifies the stock as being harvested sustainably.
The very strong 1999 year class caused SSB to increase from a level near the historic low in 2000 to a peak in 2003, although SSB has declined since that time. F has been above Fpa in most years since 1987 and is estimated just below Fpa in 2008. The 2003 to 2007 year classes are estimated to be weak.
