ICES advises that when the MSY approach is applied catches of herring in the Irish Sea in 2026 should be no more than 2 935 tonnes.
The fishery for Irish Sea herring (her.27.nirs) includes fish from the Celtic Sea herring stock (her.27.irls) which is below Blim. To be consistent with ICES advice catches of Celtic Sea herring should be zero tonnes.
