<p dir="ltr"><b><i>Please note: this advice was replaced in July 2025 (</i></b><a href="https://doi.org/10.17895/ices.advice.29477132" target="_blank"><b><i>ICES, 2025</i></b></a><b><i>)</i></b></p><p dir="ltr"><b><i>Please note: </i></b><b><i>the</i></b><b><i> present advice replaces the advice given in November 2024 for catches in 2025.</i></b></p><p dir="ltr">ICES advises that when the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) approach is applied, catches of herring in the Irish Sea in 2025 should be no more than 3 206 tonnes.</p><p dir="ltr">The fishery for Irish Sea herring (her.27.nirs) includes fish from the Celtic Sea herring stock (her.27.irls), which is below B<sub>lim</sub>. To be consistent with ICES advice catches of Celtic Sea herring should be zero tonnes.</p>
