Human Activities, Pressures, and Impacts Steering Group (HAPISG) 2024 Resolutions

<p dir="ltr">The Human Activities, Pressures, and Impacts Steering Group is responsible for guiding and supporting Expert Groups that seek to describe the diversity of pressures affecting marine ecosystems and the impacts that follow.<br></p><p dir="ltr">Topics covered include:</p><ul><li>describing and projecting trends in human pressures and impacts on marine ecosystems, including analysis of historical change</li><li>understanding and quantifying multiple impacts of human activity on populations and ecosystems, and proposing options for mitigation</li><li>prevalence and effects of contaminants, invasive species, shipping, noise, renewable energy, fishing, climate, acidification and habitat loss</li><li>estimating the vulnerability of marine ecosystems to pressures and impacts, including risk assessment and identification of limits and thresholds</li><li>developing indicators of pressure and impact and testing their role in management systems</li><li>assessing human impacts on ecosystem goods and services and developing approaches to mitigate undesirable impacts</li></ul><p dir="ltr"><b>2024 Resolutions (applicable for meetings to be held in 2024 and 2025); resolutions from November 2024 to October 2025 are named ‘2024 resolutions'.</b></p>
