Iceland request to evaluate the current management plan for haddock in Icelandic waters, input data, and stock assessmen
ICES has conducted a benchmark assessment, revised biological reference points, and evaluated the proposed harvest control rules (HCRs).
ICES advises that, of the six HCRs for haddock in Division 5.a proposed in the request, four were found to be both precautionary and result in realized fishing mortality at or below FMSY. However, one of these four did not meet the long‑term catch criterion of ≥95% of maximum sustainable yield (MSY).
