WGRECORDS was established to provide a forum for the coordination of work on diadromous species following the disbanding of the Diadromous Fish Committee. The role of the Group is to coordinate work on diadromous species, organise Expert Groups, Theme Sessions and Symposia, and help to deliver the ICES Science Plan. An informal meeting was held during the NASCO Annual Meeting in Goose Bay, Canada, 4 June 2015. The annual meeting of WGRECORDS was held on 22–23 September 2015 during the ICES Annual Science Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark and chaired by Russell Poole (Ireland) and Johan Dannewitz (Sweden).
