NASCO request - Introduction North Atlantic Salmon Stocks

At its 2010 Statutory Meeting, ICES resolved (C. Res. 2010/2/ACOM09) that the Working Group on North Atlantic Salmon [WGNAS] (chaired by Gérald Chaput, Canada) will meet at ICES HQ, 22 31 March 2011 to consider questions posed to ICES by the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO). In March 2011, NASCO also asked ICES to provide a more detailed evaluation of the choice of appropriate management units to be used in a risk-based framework for the provision of catch advice for the Faroese salmon fishery, taking into account relevant biological and

management considerations and including, if possible, worked examples of catch advice.
