Norway lobster (Nephrops spp.) in Division IVa, FU 7 (Northern North Sea, Fladen Ground)

ICES  advises  that  when  the  MSY  approach  is  applied,  catches  in  2016  (assuming  a  landing  obligation  applies)  should  be  no  more than 8549 tonnes. If this stock is not under the EU landing obligation in 2016 and discard rates do not change from the average (2012–2014), this implies landings of no more than 8539 tonnes.In  order  to  ensure  the  stock  in  this  FU  is  exploited  sustainably,  management  should  be  implemented  at  the  functional  unit  level. Should the catch in this FU be lower than advised, the difference should not be transferred to other FUs.
