Plaice in Subarea VIII and Division IXa

This is the first time that ICES analyses data for plaice in the Bay of Biscay and Iberian waters ecoregion. Currently it is not  clear  whether  there  should  be  one  or  several  management  units.  There  is  insufficient  information  to  evaluate  the  status of plaice in Subarea VIII and Division IXa. Therefore, based on precautionary considerations, ICES advises that catches should not be allowed to increase in 2012.
