ICES advises that when the MSY approach is applied, catches in 2025 should be no more than 2 600 tonnes. The use of a combined TAC for plaice in divisions 7.d and 7.e prevents effective control of stock exploitation rates and could lead to the overexploitation of either stock. ICES advises that management should be implemented at the stock area level.
ICES notes the existence of a precautionary management plan, developed and adopted by one of the relevant management authorities for this stock.
