Plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) in Subarea 4 (North Sea) and Subdivision 20 (Skagerrak)

ICES advises that when the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) approach is applied, catches in 2026 should be no more than 164 129 tonnes.

Plaice in the Subarea 4 and Subdivision 20 stock are also caught in a fishery comprising a mix with other plaice stocks in Division 7d.

ICES notes the existence of a precautionary management plan, developed and adopted by one of the relevant management authorities for this stock.
