Report of Working Group on International Young Fish Surveys

At the 1986 lCES Statutory Meeting, the Council decided that the ICES Working Group on International Young Fish Surveys would meet at lCES headquarters from 14-16 January 1987, with the following tasks:

a) to consider current problems concerning data exchange and processing;

b) to consider the relationship between survey indices and VPA-estimates of recruitment, in particular the confidence limits of recruitment forecasts based on IYFS data;

c) to consider survey methodology, in midwater trawl (IKMT) performance, intensity.
