Download fileReport of the ICES Working Group of the Baltic Sea
The pollution conditions of the Baltic Sea have been much discussed during the last years. However, there has been a lack of virtual information of the conditions as a whole. Therefore the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea decided in 1968 to establish a Working Group on Pollution of the Baltic, with the aim to survey the present situation. The survey, presented in this paper, has been made in close co-operation by representatives from all countries around the Baltic. Care has been taken to ensure, as far as possible, the accuracy of the data given, but final responsibility rests upon the national sources from which they have been derived.
