Report of the Joint Meeting of the Eurostat Working Group “Fishery Statistics” and the Fisheries Statistics Liaison Working Group (WGSTAL)

The meeting was chaired by Mr David Cross (Eurostat E3, Chairman of ICES Statistics Liaison Working Group). The Chairman welcomed the participants from 24 countries (see Annex A): all EU/EEA member countries and EU candidate countries except Austria, Croatia, Greece, Luxembourg, Portugal, Romania and Turkey and all ICES member countries with fisheries in the NE Atlantic except Faroe Is., Greenland and Russia). Observers from FAO and ICCAT and representatives of the DG FISH and the Joint Research Centre (Ispra) were also present. The agenda of the meeting (see Annex B) was approved.
