Report of the North Sea Flatfish Working Group

At the 1985 Statutory Meeting, it was decided (C.Res.1985/2:3:8) that the North Sea Flatfish Working Group should meet with the following terms of reference:

a) assess the status of and provide catch options inside safe biological limits for sole and pIaice in the North Sea and the English Channel for 1987;

b) consider the report of the ad ~ Group on the 1984 Sole Egg Survey;

c) evaluate the possibility of a combined assessment for plaice in the North Sea and the English Channel;

d} provide advice on measures which could be introduced to improve the pattern of exploitation of North Sea plaice, taking into account the effects on other species.
