The Science Strategic Initiative on Climate Change (SSICC), co-chaired by Luis Valdés (Spain) and Jürgen Alheit (Germany) met at the ICES Headquarters, Copenhagen, Denmark on 28 January 2010. This is a high level group created by Council decision at the Council’s 2007 Annual Meeting, recognizing the strategic importance of ICES in being pro-active in marine scientific research related with climate change.The report is divided into three main sections: the first section reviews the interses-sional activities directly engaged with the group, the second focuses on the discus-sions of the ToR and the third is focussed in the analysis of opportunities related with the IPCC and conclusions after the COP-15.
