Report of the Study Group on Baltic Sea Productivity (SGPROD)

The Study Group on Baltic Sea Productivity (SGPROD) met in Gdynia, Poland, from January 23–26 2007 and in a coastal subgroup meeting in Riga, from 1– 2 February2007. The meeting was attended by 22 participants from seven countries. Evolving from the Study Group on Baltic Sea Productivity Issues in Support of the BSRP (SGPROD), with the current meeting the group started to take over tasks not specifically related to the Baltic Sea Regional Project (BSRP). In particular, the group updated and presented hydrographic, nutrient, phytoplankton and zooplankton indicator time series for the use of the ICES/HELCOM Working Group on Integrated Assessments of the Baltic (WGIAB), as well as for the Baltic Fisheries Assessment Working Group (WKBFAS).
