Report of the Study Group on Collection of Acoustic Data from Fishing Vessels (SGAFV)

The ICES Study Group on Collection of Acoustic Data from Fishing Vessels (SGAFV) held its third and final annual meeting at the CSIRO Marine Laboratory, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia on 25–26 March 2006, prior to the 2006 meeting of the Working Group on Fisheries Acoustic Science & Technology (WGFAST). The meeting was chaired by Dr. W. Karp (USA). Mr. T. Ryan (Australia) acted as Rapporteur. The Chair opened the meeting by thanking CSIRO and introducing those present. The study group then reviewed the agenda and discussed the goals of the meeting.Major agenda items and meeting goals were agreed upon as follows:• Review draft chapters for the final SGAFV report (to be published as an ICES Cooperative Research Report;• Agree on any necessary changes in the structure and content of the final report; and• Agree on a schedule for updating chapter text, drafting new material, and completing report editing process.
