Report of the Study Group on Gulf III Sampler Efficiency
The Study Group worked by correspondence according to ICES Council Resolution 1993/2:58 on the following term of references:
a) coordinate comparative calibration tests to be made in a towing tank in Hamburg, Germany, with three basic types of Gulf III sampIers prescntIy used in ICES ichthyoplankton programmes;
b) identify and stimulate testing of non-moving and possibIy non intrusive flow measuring systems to be used as a standard device for measuring the volume of water filtered during hauIs
c) define a standard procedure for in situ flowmeter calibrations
