Report of the Study Group on Life Histories and Assessment Methods of Nephrops Stocks

The Study Group's first report (prepared by correspondence last year), outlined the scope for improving Nephrops assessments based on recent advances in knowledge on the species (Anon., 1992).
The group suggested terms of reference to address some of the shortfalls in the process of Nephrops assessments and, because of the uncertain future of the Nephrops/Pandalus Working Group at that time, options for the scheduling of these items were included in the Study Group report. At last year's Council Meeting it was decided to maintain the Working Group for the time being and with this in mind the Study Group was given the task of maintaining a watching brief for 1993 with a view to holding a meeting late in 1993 to take up issues requiring further attention.
