Report of the Study Group on Stock-Recruitment Relationships for North Sea Autumn-Spawning Herring

At the 86 th Annual Science Conference in 1997, it was decided (C. Res. 199712:35) that a Study Group on Stockrecruitment Relationships for North Sea Autumn-spawning herring will meet in Lowestoft, UK from 26-28 May 1998 to:

• a) establish the data series of recruitments and SSB for as long aperiod as possible,

b) investigate the performance of different stock-recruitment models,

c) propose standard models to be used for different purposes.
