At the 1988 ICES Statutory Meeting in Bergen, it was decided (C.M. 1988/ 2:4:18) that the Working Group on fishery units in Sub-areas VII and VIII (Chairman Mr A.FOREST) will meet in NANTES (FRANCE) from 23-30 June 1989 to :
a) Improve the description of the fleets and their activities,
b) Continue the development of fleet-based methods of assessment, with particular emphasis on short- and medium-term predictions in transitory phases.
