Report of the Working Group on Nephrops Stocks - Part 1 of 2

The working Group on Nephrops Stocks met in Lowestoft, England, from 10-14 April 1989 to :

(a) review the present state of knowledge on the biological parameters used in assessing Nephrops stocks (i.e. growth, natural and discard mortalities, and so on) ;

(b) assess the impact of the use of selective. trawls on the catch composition and its consequences for the management of fish and Nephrops fisheries ;

(c) evaluate the present state of exploitation of the principal Nephrops stocks and suggest management measures accordingly.
