Report of the Working Group on the Assessment of Pelagic Stocks in Divisions VIlle and lXa and Horse Mackerel

At the 76th ICES Statutory meeting in 1988, it was decided (C.Res.1988/2:4,15) that the Working Group on the Assessment of Pelagic Stocks in Divisions Vlllc and IXa and Horse Mackerel should meet in Copenhagen, 10-19 May 1989, with the following terms of reference:

a) Evaluate any new information available for defining stock units of horse mackerel ;

b) assess the status and provide catch options for 1990 within safe biological limits for the sardine stocks in Divisions Vlllc and IXa, and the horse mackerel stocks in Divisions IIa, lIla, IVa-c and Vlld, Divisions VIa, Vlla-c,e-k and VIII a,b,d,e and Divisions Vlllc and IXa, and the anchovy in Divisions Vlllb,c.
