The North Sea Task Force (NSTF) had, as one of its key tasks, the collection of data in a harmonized manner on the

concentrations of contaminants in the various compartments of the North Sea. The 1990/1991 Baseline Study on Contaminants in Sediments, conducted by the Joint Monitoring Group of the Oslo and Paris Commissions, was used in the North Sea as an important component of the NSTF monitoring effort, along with work carried out under the

NSTF Monitoring Master Plan (MMP).
