The stock of cod in Greenland waters during the years 1924—52
The studies on the biology of cod in Greenland waters are based on continuous investigations undertaken by the Greenland Administration in partial collaboration with “Kommissionen for Danmarks Fiskeri- og Havundersøgelser”. The work has been carried out by different motorboats and research vessels, and includes the area of the West Greenland fjords and coastal waters, and the offshore banks. Since 1934, otolith samples for age determinations were collected, along with length measurements, at a large number of the principal cod fisheries stations of West Greenland at different times during the season.
