Whiting (Merlangius merlangus) in Division 3.a (Skagerrak and Kattegat)

ICES  advises  that  when  the  precautionary  approach  is  applied,  catches  should  be  no  more  than  500  tonnes  in  each  of  the  years 2016 and 2017. If this stock is not under the EU landing obligation and discard rates do not change from the average of the last 3 years (2012–2014), this implies landings of no more than 135 tonnes.
